The demonstration of modelling tasks were developed to showcase the practical integration and usage of the BIOINDUSTRY4.0 data fabric within realistic bioprocess analytics scenarios. These demos are built around the data fabric designed and implemented in WP7 and serve as an operational layer that connects heterogeneous bioprocess data originating from WP3 with advanced, containerized modelling workflows produced in WP5. By leveraging standardized data structures, metadata harmonization, and ...

Industrial-scale penicillin simulation
Industrial-scale penicillin simulation (IndPenSim) is a first principles mathematical model of a 100,000 Litre fermentation of an industrial strain of Penicillium chrysogenum validated using historical data collected from an industrial-scale penicillin fermentation process. Adapting a previously published structured model to describe penicillin fermentation and extending the model to include the main environmental effects of dissolved oxygen, ...

The fermentations were carried out at Vito utilizing the experience of VTT. The fermentations were monitored by both Timegate and Kaiser Raman spectrometers. The substrates used were xylose and xylitol and the product xylitol. Dissolved oxygen, off-gas analysis were also carried out. Offline samples were taken for further analysis. Further pure-component and mixture samples of the used components in the expected concentration ranges were prepared and measured by both devices and serve as calibration ...

Trastuzumab is a monoclonal antibody used for targeted breast cancer treatment. The production of the monoclonal antibody, trastuzumab, by the yeast Komagataella phaffii (Pichia pastoris) production system is being studied by INRAE - TWB. The expression of the genes coding heavy and light chain of the antibody is controlled by two ethanol inducible promoters.

The increasing adoption of automation and digitalization in biomanufacturing has led to the proliferation of high-frequency, multi-source sensor data from bioreactors and associated analytical devices. However, raw data generated by different equipment vendors are typically heterogeneous in format, structure, sampling frequency, and naming conventions, which poses a substantial barrier to automated data processing and meaningful cross-instrument integration. Without harmonization, sensor time ...

Measurements using Ramen spectroscopy can be perturbed by ‘background’ fluorescence during fermentation originating from the organism, the feedstock, and/or the medium. Data from the ‘Ethanol Production’ use case involving an industrial strain of the yeast S. cerevisiae (RWTH) will investigate the various sources of fluorescence and their effects on fluorescence at the end of fermentation. New and collated datasets will be useful in the production, refinement, and verification of statistical, ...

Scorpionism is a serious public health problem in tropical areas, especially in Africa, southern India, the Middle East, and Latin America. There are about 12 species of scorpions that are dangerous to humans and all belong to the Buthidae family. In particular, venom on scorpion Androctonus australis hector is particularly toxic to humans. Serotherapy uses antibodies or fragments of antibodies to target the neurotoxins of the scorpion venom. Nanobodies, camelid-derived antibodies, are more ...
Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) models as well as Digital shadows and Digital twins as well as Digital shadows and Digital twins have been, and are being, developed for a variety of applications, including industrial process supervision, bioprocess optimization, energy management, and environmental monitoring. In cases where models have the aim to classify, predict, or forecast a variable of interest then these models must become deployable in real-time so that their ...
